First CVS MinuteClinic Open in Center City Philadelphia and More Retail Clinic News

Sleek, modern buildings dominate Philadelphia’s skyline. Until 1987, a gentlemen’s agreement limited building construction to the height of City Hall. Today, lights emanate from dozens of buildings, making the nation’s fifth largest city sparkle.

Retail clinic news: Philadelphia residents now have access to a new CVS MinuteClinic location at 1500 Spruce St. in Center City; Walgreens is switching to Epic EHRs; and the number of retail health clinics is expected to continue growing.

It seems like big-time mergers and acquisitions are everywhere these days. In the beer world, Anheuser-Busch (Budweiser, etc.) is buying SABMiller (Miller Lite, etc.). American Airlines and US Airways merging. And now, two major pharmacy chains will join forces to compete with CVS Health, leaving us two major choices in the drugstore world. What does the Walgreens-Rite Aid deal mean for us as consumers?
